Wellness with Archana LMFT

You deserve wellness from within.

Serving communities in the Bay Area, California and beyond

Even in the present moment, our past experiences show up and impact who we are and are also likely to influence our future if we are not aware of the role our past plays. Our ongoing experiences have influence in how we think and feel, including being held in our bodies like pockets of information that shape our identity and how we move in relationships. This memory impacts not only our mental health, but our physical health as well. I recognize the value of releasing these pockets of information to improve your overall wellness and am ready to support you in feeling more centered from within to create alignment with the universe so life feels lighter and more meaningful.  Through finding meaning and symbolism of your experiences, I can help you create intentional meaning and direction for your present and future. I invite you in a safe and neutral space with me, to be compassionately curious and gently challenged in creating lasting change.

"Let the waves of the universe rise and fall as they will. You have nothing to gain or lose. You are the ocean."

Psychotherapy with Me

Through sitting with me I can provide compassion for each and every part of you in a nonjudgemental, culturally humble way in hope for you to gain understanding and acceptance of yourself and aid in the creation of healthier relationships. I will also support you in becoming a healthier version of who you are by providing tools that can make your life more liberating and enjoyable. I hope to aid in your discovery using multiple modalities best suited for your growth because everyone deserves to feel alive, loved and connected in mind body and soul.

Let me be clear that I may not know everything about you, nor been through everything you’ve been through, but I know this much is true- I want to acknowledge and accept every facet of you in a safe, authentic and collaborative manner. I am also here to remind you to have fun with a little humor and humanness along the way. After all, it’s equally important to pay attention to those small but good moments in life.

I may be the licensed therapist in the room, however I am not the expert of your life. I am simply here to help you witness that truth, and even at times hold the hope you may not have.  I am here to intentionally apply my skills learned through over a decade of professional experience as well as my continued growth in my own personal therapy to be a better hum and therapist all while stepping outside the western lens to provide a holistic approach integrated with eastern philosophies and practices. I also continue to stay up to date with ongoing trainings to provide you with the best quality of care utilizing specific assessments and treatment approaches to collaboratively create a tailor made treatment plan that you feel motivated by in achieving your goals for therapy.

About me

Hi, I am Archana, and I also go by Archie. When I am not practicing as a psychotherapist, I stay entertained as a mother of highly spirited children, continue to work on creating healthy boundaries, body kindness, and since 2020 -volunteer with Postpartum Support International as a facilitator for one of the Perinatal Support Groups. On a lighter note, I enjoy embracing both my American and Indian cultures, making delicious meals if I’m successful, take walks to enjoy nature and of course have fun with what I think is my sense of humor- because what is life without some laughter?

Back to a more serious note, I believe because of my own well being journey I have personally experienced healing from the benefits of my own therapy and spiritual growth. I also know it is these experiences that highlighted the value of mental wellness that drove me to leave a career in the tech industry to pursue a career in mental health. Over the years I have been compelled to get certified in perinatal mental health- helping those who desire to become parents, pregnancy, and postpartum. Becoming a parent can at times place your needs before others because of the all encompassing demands of parenting, managing your intimate relationships and other hats you may wear along with rediscovering your own self. I personally and professionally understand what that can be like. Additionally, I continue to be passionate about helping individuals struggling with disordered eating and eating disorders because of my own journey with body image and relationship with food. Most recently, I am completing a certification to support individuals suffering from narcissistic abuse in order to help individuals reduce their suffering and/or learn the tools to help them separate from that unhealthy relationship. I know diving into therapy and entrusting someone with your deepest thoughts and feelings can be intimidating, so I hope this helps to learn a little bit about me.
